Special to-do app that doesn't stress you out. Be fluent. You don't owe anyone anything. You live your life, we remember what matters. Because you are the one.
What is TODO-ish?
TODO-ish is a task management app for iOS and macOS, built for people who don’t like to rush — and want to live in the flow.
It’s not a productivity system. It’s not another method to optimize or a framework to follow. It’s a calm, flexible place to remember what matters — on your terms, at your pace.
We built TODO-ish because we were tired of apps that made us feel guilty, overwhelmed, or like we were failing at our own to-do list. Every existing tool was either too rigid, too complex, or quietly made tasks disappear when we missed a deadline.
TODO-ish is different. It remembers for you — without judging you.
Who Is It For?
TODO-ish is for people who:
- Don’t like being told what to do by an app
- Want to plan ahead, not in a panic
- Live a creative, freelance, or non-linear lifestyle
- Have tried Todoist, Things, or Microsoft To Do — and deleted them
- Believe that “productivity” is a word that’s lost all meaning
If you’ve ever downloaded three planners and abandoned all three, this one is for you.
Key Features
Today-ish: Your Focus List for the Day
Today-ish is your smart daily list. Tasks land here three ways: you pin them yourself, they have a deadline today, or today is their recurring day.
And here’s what makes it genuinely different: nothing disappears without your permission. In most apps, yesterday’s unfinished tasks quietly vanish — and you don’t even know what you lost. In TODO-ish, a task stays in Today-ish until you decide what to do with it. You always know where you stand.
Plan Ahead. Don’t Rush
TODO-ish has a built-in 48-hour scrollable calendar right inside Today-ish. Drag any task onto a time slot and start working on it before the deadline — not the night before, not in a panic. Just when you planned to.
No switching to another calendar app. No workarounds. The time-blocking lives where your tasks live.
Recurring Tasks That Understand Real Life
Most apps treat repetition and deadlines as the same thing. In TODO-ish, they’re not.
A recurring task has its own rhythm — daily, weekdays, weekly, monthly, or yearly. Your due date is completely separate. And when you actually sit down to work on it, you time-box it in the calendar. Three different things. Three different slots. Because they are three different things.
Missed a recurring task? The next one still shows up on schedule — but the missed one stays, so you can decide. Skip it guilt-free, or catch up. That’s your call.
If things pile up, TODO-ish creates up to 5 instances before pausing. No endless debt. No spiral of guilt. Just reality.
Zones — Not Folders
Organize your life into Zones: Work, Home, Side Projects, Creative, anything you need. Each Zone gets its own color — choose from a preset palette or pick any color with the full color wheel.
Go further: turn any Zone into a Calendar Zone. Set which days it’s active and what hours it covers. Your zones become visual layers on the calendar — so you always see what kind of work belongs to what moment.
Reminders That Don’t Let You Down
Set a reminder, get notified — with Snooze built right in. 10 minutes or 1 hour, right from the notification.
Missed a notification while your phone was face-down? When you open TODO-ish, it surfaces the missed reminder and asks what you want to do. Nothing gets lost in the notification graveyard.
The Details That Feel Right:
- Today-ish, Must-ish, Inbox-ish, Due-ish, Done-ish — soft names for a reason
- Swipe tasks to pin to today, set a reminder, change zone, or delete
- Subtasks, notes, and due dates on every task
- Light, dark, and system themes
- Works on iPhone, Mac and Web
What Makes TODO-ish Different
Most task management apps were built around a simple idea: give yourself a list of things to do, check them off, feel accomplished. It sounds great in theory.
In practice, it creates pressure. Miss a deadline? The app silently moves on. Forget a recurring task? It stacks up into an impossible backlog. Set a reminder? It fires once and disappears.
We took a different approach:
| Feature | TODO-ish | Most competitors |
| Time-blocking | Built in, drag & drop | Separate app needed |
| Recurring + due date | Independent settings | Same field |
| Missed tasks | Stay until you act | Disappear silently |
| Missed reminders | Surface on next open | Gone forever |
| Zones with schedules | Yes — days + hours | Folders only |
| Philosophy | Anti-stress, anti-guilt | Productivity-first |
The Philosophy Behind TODO-ish
We believe that the best tool is one that works the way you think — not the way a productivity guru thinks you should think.
TODO-ish uses soft, intentional language throughout: Today-ish, Must-ish, Done-ish. Not deadlines. Not priorities. Not OKRs. Just your things, loosely organized, ready when you need them.
You don’t owe this app anything. It doesn’t expect you to be perfect. It doesn’t punish you for a bad day. It just quietly holds your list — and makes sure nothing important slips through.
Don’t rush. Do urgent things ahead of time. Live in the flow.

About the Developer
TODO-ish is made by IT for Music — a small independent studio building apps for real people with real lives.
We build tools we use ourselves. TODO-ish started as a personal app, built because nothing else on the market felt right. It grew into something we wanted to share.
